DEQ seeks comment on proposed air quality permit to construct for Idaho Forest Group, Moyie Springs

Thursday, February 08, 2018

MOYIE SPRINGS — The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking public comment on a proposed air quality permit to construct (PTC) for Idaho Forest Group, Moyie Springs.

DEQ determined a second public comment period was needed due to Appendices A and B of the Statement of Basis inadvertently being omitted during the December public comment period.

The proposed permit will regulate emissions from the company's sawmill located at 3082 Roosevelt Drive.

DEQ has reviewed the permit application and determined that construction and operation of the equipment under the proposed permit conditions will not cause or contribute to a violation of any ambient air quality standard and will not injure or unreasonably affect human or animal life or vegetation.

The permit application, proposed permit, and related documents are available for review on DEQ’s website (download at right).

The deadline for submitting written comments addressing air quality considerations is March 12, 2018, at 5 p.m. MDT. A public hearing may be held if requested in writing by February 23, 2018.

Submit requests for a public hearing and/or written comments on the draft permit electronically on DEQ’s website or by mail or email to:
