Idaho has delegated authority to implement the Clean Air Act, outside Indian reservation boundaries. To implement the Clean Air Act, Idaho developed a State Implementation Plan that lays out how Idaho ensures air quality throughout the state meets the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
Idaho’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) includes the “Rules for the Control of Air Pollution in Idaho” (IDAPA 58.01.01) and certain state statutes, which have been approved by EPA, infrastructure plans for implementing new or revised NAAQS, and plans for attaining and maintaining NAAQS for those areas designated as nonattainment or attainment with a maintenance plan.
