DEQ seeks comment on finding of no significant impact for Fruitland drinking water improvement project

Accepting comments from April 23, 2024, through May 13, 2024.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking comment on a draft finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for a drinking water improvement project for the city of Fruitland.

The proposed project involves the following upgrades:

  1. Initiating a pre-treatment study at the water treatment plant followed by upgrading its infrastructure
  2. Upgrading WTP by constructing a fourth infiltration gallery and fourth membrane rack, reviewing distribution pumps and pipes, expanding chlorine contact tank, and replacing existing water intake pipes
  3. Constructing a 1.2 million-gallon above-ground storage reservoir
  4. Replacing water service lines; and • Extending existing water distribution system south along State Highway 95

The draft finding is available for public review at DEQ’s State Office (1410 N. Hilton Street, Boise, Idaho) and on DEQ’s Public Comment Opportunities page. Written comments will be accepted through May 13, 2024, at 5 p.m. MST. Submit comments using the form below or by mail or email:
